Name: Sherilynn Milsom Rating: 1 Date: 2016-01-07 Review: Starchy, greasy, and overcooked delivery order. Ordered from here based on reviews the place was amazing. No menu available online so we mainly ordered what people had said was "the best in town." Calamari: yes, the texture was good and it wasn't greasy, but it had no flavour. The "hot sauce" was not hot, and that was the only flavour on it. We may as well have eaten hot sauce with a spoon and saved the $16. Black Peppercorn Beef: has a very starchy coating and sauce. The flavour is okay, but it was overcooked, so one bite tasted the same as the next whether you were eating beef or onions. Beef with Gai Lan: the gai lan was delicious and perfectly cooked. However the beef had a disgusting starchy coating and I couldn't eat it. Putrid. Spring rolls: incredibly greasy, and surprisingly cold (especially considering their large size). Also, we were not aware they contained shrimp, and one of our party can't eat shrimp. Mushroom chop suey: they really scraped the bottom of the barrel for this one. The flavour was okay, but all the sprouts were broken into tiny pieces and the dish was horribly overcooked. And there was some sort of starchy sauce, whereas other chop suey I've had has been light tasting. Worst chop suey ever. Perhaps it's better if you dine at the restaurant, but I don't think we'll bother trying this place again.

Yes, it is true the restaurant isn't beautifully appointed and some of the servers are not going to win personality prizes but the food comes hot, fresh,and fast, the portion sizes are huge and is absolutely the best tasting Chinese food you can get. Try the ginger beef or chicken, the beef and broccoli and/or the deep fried shrimp! If you want authentic Chinese instead of the Canadian variety, they have that too! We have been introducing friends to this place for years. It is packed every night so make a reservation for sure!

It serves great genuine Chinese food, and although the atmosphere isn't spectacular, the portion sizes are huge and the place is open late. The African chicken, calamari and mushroom fried rice are unreal.
